ISLAMABAD, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that the government is committed to equipping the country's youth with internationally competitive skills to drive economic growth and enhance Pakistan's global competitiveness.

In a message on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, Sharif said Pakistan's young people are among the nation's most valuable assets, emphasizing that quality education, technical and vocational training, digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship are essential for preparing them for the evolving global economy.

Highlighting the government's measures, the prime minister said the government has transformed the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission into a modern institution focused on internationally benchmarked training, globally recognized certifications, and industry-aligned skills.

Sharif said the government is expanding partnerships with industry and international institutions to ensure Pakistan's workforce meets global standards.

He expressed hope that Pakistan's skilled workforce would emerge as a global symbol of competence, innovation, and excellence in the coming years. Enditem
