TRIPOLI, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Libya's Akakus Oil Operations Company announced on Wednesday that its crude production reached a 12-year high in July, averaging 332,056 barrels per day.

The company said in a statement that the output marked the highest level since 2014, attributing the increase to ongoing drilling programs, new well connections, and efforts to improve operational efficiency and reliability at production sites.

The company operates under a production-sharing agreement with Libya's National Oil Corporation and international partners, including Spain's Repsol, France's TotalEnergies, Austria's OMV, and Norway's Equinor.

Its operations are mainly focused on the Sharara oil field in southwestern Libya, one of the country's largest oil fields, with crude transported via a pipeline to export terminals in the northwestern city of Zawiya on the Mediterranean coast. Enditem
