BEIRUT -- Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday called on U.S. President Donald Trump to help Lebanon achieve lasting peace during their talks at the White House, stressing the necessity to end hostilities between Lebanon and Israel permanently.

According to Lebanon's National News Agency, Aoun thanked Trump for his support in reaching what he described as a "historic achievement" through the recent signing of a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel.

CAPE TOWN -- South Africa has introduced mandatory health screening measures for travelers arriving in the country from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda following the ongoing Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak.

"Due to the current EVD outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, everyone traveling to South Africa from the DRC and Uganda is required to complete a Travel Health Questionnaire (THQ)," the South African government said in a traveler alert posted on social media on Tuesday.

SOFIA -- Moldova's parliament, in a confidence vote on Tuesday, approved Vasile Tofan as the country's new prime minister and the full cabinet list submitted by Tofan.

The vote on Tofan's nomination drew 53 votes in favor, securing a parliamentary majority.
