DAMASCUS, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and several others injured in an explosion that struck a public transport minibus in the Damascus suburb of Jaramana on Thursday, Syria's health authorities said.
The blast occurred inside the minibus near the al-Rawda junction in Jaramana, southeast of the Syrian capital.
In a preliminary statement, the authorities said three people were killed and a number of others wounded in the explosion.
Ambulances and Syrian Civil Defense teams rushed to the scene to evacuate the wounded and transport them to nearby hospitals, while authorities had yet to announce the cause.
Security forces cordoned off the area as investigations into the incident were underway.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion. Enditem
