SANAA -- Four crew members were killed and four others wounded Tuesday after a commercial cargo vessel was struck in the Bab al-Mandab Strait off Yemen's western coast, the Yemeni government said, blaming the attack on the Houthi group.
The government-run Transport Ministry said in a statement that the vessel, identified as the Tihamah, was hit by three ballistic missiles while sailing through the strategic waterway, triggering a fire and damaging the ship. (Yemen-Vessel Attack)

BUDAPEST -- Hungary's parliament on Tuesday elected former Supreme Court chief Andras Baka as the country's new president.
Baka, 73, the sole candidate in the election, received 140 votes in a secret ballot. He was nominated by the ruling Tisza party, which holds the two-thirds parliamentary majority needed to elect the president without opposition support.
Baka served as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights from 1991 to 2008 before Hungary's parliament elected him president of the Supreme Court in 2009. (Hungary-President)

CAIRO -- At least 15 people were killed and 32 others injured after a pickup truck carrying workers overturned in Egypt's northeastern Ismailia governorate, the Egyptian Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
The ministry said the figures were preliminary, adding that the injured were transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. (Egypt-Accident)

DOHA -- Iran is working on the wording of an announcement regarding its ongoing talks with Oman, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said Tuesday.
"The Iranian side said that they are in the process of drafting the announcement that will be made," Al Ansari said at a weekly press conference.
Talks between Iran and Oman are continuing, he said, adding, "Our priority is to reopen the Strait (of Hormuz) and make sure that we can support the negotiations." (Qatar-Iran-Oman Talks) Enditem
