KABUL, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Habib ur Rahman Mansoor, mayor of Faizabad, the capital of Afghanistan's northeastern Badakhshan province, was reportedly killed in a bomb attack on Thursday, local media Tolo News reported.
Mansoor is the second local official to have been killed in an attack in the province over the past two weeks.
Zabihullah Amiri, head of the provincial Information and Culture Department, was killed by armed men in a shooting incident two weeks ago.
The Afghan government has yet to confirm the incident. Enditem
