Georgia's FDI up 19.3 pct in 2025

TBILISI, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Georgia reached 1.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, up 19.3 percent year on year, the country's National Statistics Office (Geostat) said Monday.

Reinvested earnings made up 82.5 percent of the total, according to Geostat. The United Kingdom was the top investor with 426.6 million dollars, or 22.4 percent of the total, followed by Azerbaijan with 214.4 million dollars, or 11.3 percent, and Türkiye with 202.4 million dollars, or 10.6 percent.

By sector, financial and insurance activities attracted the most investment at 633.2 million dollars, or 33.3 percent of the total, followed by real estate at 254.7 million dollars, or 13.4 percent, and trade with 191.1 million dollars, or 10.1 percent.
