HANOI, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's 16th National Assembly (NA) concluded its first extraordinary session on Monday.
During the session, the NA adopted 15 laws and six resolutions, and conducted first readings of seven draft laws.
Among the resolutions adopted were those on establishing Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh as centrally-run cities in northern Vietnam.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man said the decisions adopted at the session would provide an important legal basis for the government, ministries, sectors and localities to carry out their tasks in the remaining months of 2026.
Man said the measures would contribute to efforts to achieve double-digit economic growth and meet the country's development targets for the 2026-2030 period. Enditem
