BANGKOK -- Thailand's Constitutional Court is set to rule on Sept. 28 whether barcodes and QR codes printed on ballots violated the charter's guarantee of voting secrecy, in a case that could lead to the February general election being annulled.

ISLAMABAD -- At least 14 infants were killed when a fire broke out in the gynecology ward of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences here on Wednesday, police sources said.

HONG KONG -- John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said on Wednesday that he will announce Hong Kong's first five-year plan on Sept. 16 and subsequently release the 2026 policy address.

KATHMANDU -- At least 95 people were killed and 484 others remain missing in a massive flash flood in north Nepal on Wednesday, the Office of the Prime Minister said.
Among the missing are 391 foreign tourists and 93 Nepali nationals, the office said in a statement. As per the Nepal Tourism Board record, the missing foreign nationals include 134 Indians, 47 Americans, 33 British and 34 Australians. (Nepal-Floods-Missing) Enditem
