Phoenix TV:
My question is about Japan. There is a high level of attention in Japan regarding China's commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan Aggression. Some argue that China is using historical issues to pressure Japan and interfere with Japan's narrative of World War II history. At the same time, we have also noticed that in recent years, some forces in Japan have been seeking to loosen military restrictions. This includes downplaying the history of aggression and even distortion of history. This is in an attempt to create a public perception of "Japan as a victim of war." What is China's comment on this? Thank you.
Hong Lei:
Upholding historical truth and to a correct view of history is a matter of human conscience, international justice, and world peace. Whether Japan can correctly understand and address its history is a touchstone to test whether it can uphold conscience and adhere to its commitment to peaceful development.
There has always been a faction in Japan attempting to deny and glorify its aggression, distort and falsify history, and even attempt to exonerate and revere convicted war criminals. This is a challenge to the post-war international order, to human conscience, and to all peace-loving people. In recent years, Japan has also significantly adjusted its security policy, increased its defense budget year by year, continuously relaxed restrictions on arms exports, seeking breakthrough in military development. This cannot but raise strong doubts among its Asian neighbor countries and the international community as to whether Japan is truly committed to self-defense and peaceful development.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Japan once again faces questions of history and the times. We urge Japan to face up to history, deeply reflect on its crimes of aggression, completely break away from militarism, and take the right path of peaceful development and good-neighborly relations. Thank you.

Let's continue with the questions. Due to time constraints, we will take one last question.
