Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group:
The military parade is a key part of the commemoration. With less than a week to go, could you please update us on the latest preparations? Thank you.
Wu Zeke:
Thank you for your question. The military parade is an important part of the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. This parade will feature a comprehensive range of participating forces in a systematic formation, and a large number of weapons and equipment, many of which will be making their debut. It will be a concentrated display of the people's armed forces' strong political loyalty, new structural layout, recent advances in modernization, and enhanced combat readiness in the new era and new journey. The parade holds profound political significance and far-reaching historical meaning for commemorating the victory of the War of Resistance and carrying forward the great spirit of resisting aggression. So far, three full-scale rehearsals have been conducted in Tiananmen Square, all of which achieved the expected outcomes. Troops participating in the parade are in high spirits and full of confidence, and all the weapons and equipment have been kept in good condition. Preparations for the parade are basically complete, and we have entered the final countdown. Let's look forward to the grand parade on Sept. 3. We firmly believe that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the Central Military Commission and President Xi, all participating officers and soldiers will live up to the trust and fulfill the mission placed upon them, and present to the people of China and the world a parade that carries forward the spirit of the resistance war, demonstrates the features of our times, and displays the demeanor of a major country. Thank you.
