Xizang's cultural tourism boom weaves ecology, livelihood and cultural heritage

5月19日，恰逢“中国旅游日”，2026年“雪域古城·圣地拉萨”文化旅游节纳木错“开湖”仪式举行。

The much-anticipated opening ceremony of Nam Co Lake was held Tuesday in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region. This Tuesday also marks the 2026 China Tourism Day.

纳木错湖面海拔4718米，藏语意为“天湖”。每年5月，冰封许久的纳木错褪去厚重的冰甲，迎来“开湖”时节，吸引各地游客前来观景打卡。

Perched 4,718 meters above sea level, Nam Co means "Heavenly Lake" in the Xizang language. Every May, as the lake thaws after long freezing in winter, the unique natural spectacle known locally as "lake opening" signals the start of the lake's most popular tourist season.
