A Chinese film week celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) was opened on Monday at the Taedong Gate Cinema of Pyongyang.

Five Chinese feature films, including "Li Shuangliang," "Postmen in Mountains," "the Knot," "When Ruoma was Seventeen," and "Huayao Bride in Shangri-La", will be screened during the period from Monday to Friday.

The cultural exchange will deepen the understanding between the two peoples, and give impetus to the traditional China-DPRK friendship, said Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK at the opening ceremony.

The DPRK side will work with the Chinese side to boost the exchange and cooperation on films to contribute to the friendship of the two peoples, said Paek Han Su, deputy head of the National Committee of Films of the DPRK.

The feature film Li Shuangliang was screened after the opening ceremony.
