A portrait of Chen Shu as Jane Eyre for her role in the stage drama of the same name was revealed recently, the Beijing Times reports.
Chen Shu's costume brings the memorable character to life with a classic bonnet tied under the chin and a plain gray Victorian-style dress.
The second rendition of 'Jane Eyre' will run from December 10 to 23.
Chen Shu took over the job from actress Yuan Quan, the leading lady of the first run who dropped out due to pregnancy.
Chen Shu said she is confident about the upcoming performance and praised the achievements of Yuan Quan.
"I appreciate Yuan Quan's Jane Eyre, a character entangled in a love that is delicate and intense. I'm confident that I can create a Chen Shu's Jane, who will be different."
