A short teaser trailer for the romantic art-house film "Crossing Hennessy" starring actress Tang Wei and singer-actor Jacky Cheung was released on Jan. 17, 2010.

Wearing casual clothes and cheesy makeup and demonstrating unpolished table manners, Tang has created a media buzz for her reversed next-door-girl image in her comeback silver screen project. In the film, she portrays an unsociable girl approaching a marriageable age, who is set up with a kind but laid-back electrical appliance shop owner played by Jacky Cheung.

The film is considered to be a customized work by director Ivy Ho and Tang's new company for the actress to renew her image after her much-disputed debut in Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" in 2007. The Golden Lion-winning film subjected the up-and-coming actress to overwhelming domestic criticism for her excessive body exposure.

Tang has remained very low key while filming "Crossing Hennessey" after a two-year hiatus following her overnight celebrity status. It has been reported that the Hong Kong art-house film will not be screened in cinemas on the Chinese mainland. Nevertheless, Tang's fans have been greatly anticipating her performance in the movie as it will mark her return to the silver screen.
