Yan Ni in TV series "My Own Swordsman" [sohu.com]

The former hit TV series "My Own Swordsman" (Wu Lin Wai Zhuan) will be made into a film scheduled to start shooting next month, Sohu.com reports.

Ning Caishen, the film's screenwriter, said Yan Ni will still star as the manager of the Tong Fu hotel in the film, even though it had previously been reported that she would not appear in the movie because she was not satisfied with the salary on offer.

The TV series "My Own Swordsman" gained many fans after it had been played repeatedly on television. It has become one of the most popular TV series among young audiences because of its exaggerated performances and prevailing words and phrases.

But it was not until the latter half of 2009 that Ning Caishen decided to reshoot it as a film.

Actors Yao Chen, Sha Yi, Yu Entai, Jiang Chao and other original cast members from the TV series have expressed a willingness to take part in the movie. They will play the same roles, although the film version will describe a totally different story, reportedly focusing on housing problems.
