Eason Chan starts 'Duo' concert tour

One of the most popular Mandopop and Cantopop singers Eason Chan started his concert tour "Duo" in Hong Kong over the weekend.
While his fans might have expected the concert to be all about him, Chan had other ideas. The gig was dominated by interpretations of songs by other artists, including Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, Sandy Lam, Faye Wong, Alan Tam, and Grasshopper.
Chan says, "I want to present new ideas to the audience. Singing other artists' songs is a challenge. Why do I pick those songs? It's fitting for the theme 'Duo' - two items of the same kind, a same thing but being presented in two different styles."
Chan was never the one to shy away from passionate and provocative performances. And this time around, he touched on the topic of "love that dare not speak its name."
"It's fine to show the issue on the stage vividly. All kinds of love are innocent. Songs like 'Forbidden', 'Nowhere's Land' are about this issue that people commonly assume do not exist. To me, love is simple like a passionate kiss, it's just a feeling."
"Duo" is Chan's sixth theme concert. His latest Cantonese album "Time Flies" has just been released.
