'The Butterfly Effect' shows China's contemporary art

He Xiangning Art Museum in Shenzhen is preparing to open a new large-scale exhibition Saturday, presenting a wide range of contemporary works by artists from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao.

Entitled "The Butterfly Effect," the exhibition will feature 18 pieces, including installations, video works, performance art and multi-media, all reflecting the artists' personal understanding of Chinese society today.

A total of 17 avant-garde artists are participating the exhibition, including Ma Qiusha, Xing Danwen and Huang Yang from the mainland, Jaffa Lam and Chou Chun-fai from Hong Kong, Chen Ching-yuan and Wu Dar-kuen from Taiwan and José Drummond from Macao.

By displaying these works together, the exhibition aims at offering a panoramic view of China's contemporary art creation, explained Feng Boyi, curator of the exhibition.
