China's rock star Wang Feng will open his "Belief 2010" solo concert at Beijing's Capital Gymnasium on April 10.

Wang announced the upcoming concert at a special conference on March 21 at the city's ancient Desheng Gate, once a towering entrance for the triumphant troops of history, where he wished for a successful gig.

The concert will mix classical music with live rock by inviting the Orchestra of the National Ballet of China to join the performance.

Now the two parties are busy practicing the repertoire.

To distinguish the gig with cool visual effects, Wang Feng has invited leading Japanese professionals to help with choreography.

The singer started as a viola player in the Orchestra of the National Ballet of China 15 years ago and later diverted his attention from classical music to rock in order to better express his true feelings and emotion.

He then started his own rock band and gained prominence nationwide as a rock star with many popular recordings, including "Belief Flies in the Wind," "Brave Heart," "Blooming Life" and "Flying Higher."

The concert's theme comes from last year's award-winning hit album "Belief Flies in the Wind."

Silver Bear-winning director Wang Xiaoshuai, who was also present at the conference, remarked that he is very appreciative of Wang Feng, who always sticks to his own beliefs and encourages people around him to do the same.
