Two more Internet TV operators got licenses from the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT), days after the first legal operator of this kind was approved last Tuesday, National Business Daily reported on Wednesday.
Wenguang, based in Shanghai, and Huashu in Hangzhou joined China Central Television (CNTV) to become the "big three" of state-approved web TV operators.
The nod by SARFT means providers could have their content aired through the three web TV networks without restrictions by local radio and television administrators.
But SARFT said no more such permits would be issued in the near future because of possible "internal restructuring" with radio and television administrators at all levels.
