The Holisland Rock Festival will be staged from July 16 to 18 in Xiangcheng district, Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

Organizers will invite both international and Chinese acts to the ancient city. Foreign outfits include Sinead O'Connor, Tori Amos, Hanson, Simple Plan, Blue October, Rise Against, Thirteen Senses and The Blackout. Chinese groups include Zhang Chu, Wang Feng, Zheng Jun, Subs, Brain Failure, Miserable Faith and Twisted Machine.

With an expected 150,000 attendees, the festival aims to become the biggest rock music jamboree in East China.

During the three days of the festival, three stages will present live performances by about 40 acts. Various side activities, such as hip-hop dance competitions, graffiti creation and fireworks shows, will also run.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the drought-affected areas in Southwest China and the earthquake-ravaged Yushu in Qinghai province.
