A final shooting script for the movie "The Founding of the Party" is nearing completion. Shooting is expected to occur between August and December, with the premiere scheduled to take place some time before July 1st 2011 to coincide with the Chinese Communist Party's 90th birthday, according to director Han Sanping.

Han also revealed that this movie will be co-directed by him and Huang Jianxin.

The story of "The Founding of the Party" starts around 1921, and focuses on historical events from the 1917 October Revolution to the establishment of the Chinese Communist Party in 1921. The youth of Mao Zedong will be the main line of the story. Chiang Kai-shek, Song Qingling, Song Meiling and other historical figures will appear in the film as well.

"The Founding of the Party" is another large-scale production from the China Film Group, following in the footsteps of "The Founding of a Republic", which celebrated 60 years of New China.
