After his successful incarnation as martial arts master Ip Man, in the eponymous 2009 movie, kungfu star Donnie Yen is set to challenge himself again in its sequel.

Ip Man 2 follows Ip's life after he moves to Hong Kong during World War II, and takes Bruce Lee under his wings. Jiang Daiyan, 11, chosen after several rounds of selections across the country, plays the young Lee.

The Wing Chun style of kungfu remains the sequel's highlight, with dazzling fight scenes between Yen and Sammo Hung, another veteran kungfu actor.

Ip Man raked in about 100 million yuan ($14.7 million) in 2009 and director Wilson Yip is confident the sequel will bring in another 200 million yuan this time.

Ip Man 2 premieres today.
