A one-minute trailer was released at the ceremony and made the audience burst into laughter, the report says.

Director Guo said the film described the well-known story of Tang Bohu in a completely different way. He is presented as a pirate in the film who attracts numerous fans with his hip-hop and rock music.

Guo, who is also a crosstalk performer, will also demonstrate this talent in the film. The director believes his film will amuse everyone, no matter what their age. When asked about box-office competition from "Iron Man 2", which will hit Chinese cinemas on the same day as "Three Smiles" on May 7, Guo expressed his confidence by saying that his film would be a genuine rival to the Hollywood film.

Yu Qian, director Guo's partner on the crosstalk stage, will surprise audiences with his cross-dressing role of Madam Hua. He will be wearing a great deal of make-up, with painted lips and red nails, to perform a middle-aged woman. Yu said he felt under pressure when first asked to play a woman, but he began to gain confidence after being made up like a real woman.

The film also stars Yao Di, Guo Keyu, Zhang Heng and Cao Yunjin.
