"Grey's Anatomy" is the latest U.S.-made TV hit to be shown by CCTV following "Band of Brothers", "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Desperate Housewives".

A medical drama, "Grey's Anatomy" follows the personal and professional lives of interns, residents and their mentors at the fictional Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital (formerly Seattle Grace Hospital) in Seattle, Washington.

The TV show was previously one of the most popular prime time dramas in the United States, and won the Best Drama Series award at the 2006 Golden Globes.

CCTV will air the first two seasons.

A staff member with CCTV said the broadcaster made some small adjustments to allow the show to cater to Chinese audiences, but tried to maintain the original story and style as much as possible.
