Thriller-suspense film "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" starring Academy Award-winning actor Michael Douglas will be released in China on June 3, the Beijing Morning Post reports.

The movie is written and directed by Peter Hyams, who also directed the 1999 action horror film "End of Days" and the science-fiction movie "A Sound of Thunder" in 2005.

The film is a remake of the 1956 film of the same name, which was directed by Fritz Lang and written by Douglas Morrow.

"Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" tells the story of a local TV reporter C.J. Nicholas (Jesse Metcalfe) who attempts to lay a trap for New Orleans District Attorney Mark Hunter (Michael Douglas), in order to expose his corruption.
