The Chinese version of the film "High School Musical" will make its nationwide screening debut on August 12, Ent.qq.com reports.

Based on the original "High School Musical" which had been the most successful film ever made by Disney, the Chinese version depicts a singing contest in a university that arouses students' desires to realize their musical dreams.

They encounter various difficulties in the process, but everyone manages to make the right decisions so that their dreams come true.

The actors in the leading roles attended a press conference in Beijing Tuesday and told reporters that apart from the different kinds of dance styles, the film also involves some plots and scenes from the lives of young Chinese, which are presented through humorous and encouraging songs.

Famous cross talk comedian Guo Degang plays the father of one of the main characters in the film.
