A total of 150 sculptures are on display in four exhibition halls at the museum, revealing the artist's personal interpretations of the kaleidoscopic human world. The exhibition also provides an insight in part, to the great contemporary sculptor's lifelong artistic achievements.

Alongside some of the most important works from Ju's Living World Series created since the 1980s, are his latest pieces Imprisonment, also part of the Living World Series, which are on public display for the first time.

The Living World Series, created after his Nativist and Taichi Series, is one of the three core themes of Ju's artistic creations. The artist himself said that the series represents the flowers and fruits when comparing his whole art life to a tree, with the Nativist Series the roots and the Taichi Series the trunk and branches.

Born in 1938, Ju was at first a woodcarver and then became famous in Taiwan and around the world for his creations. He is skillfully adept at taking on different materials and has utilized a wide range of media during his lifelong career as a sculptor, including Styrofoam, copper, stainless steel, ceramic and stone.

Four years ago, an exhibition of Ju's Taichi Series sculptures was held at the National Art Museum of China, successfully introducing him to the Chinese mainland.
