There are 60 minutes of impressive war scenes out of the total 94 minutes in the film. "Death and Glory in Changde" is also the only war themed film during the summer holiday period of 2010.
The film is about the 1943 battle of Changde, a city in central China's Hunan province. A Chinese division of about 8,000 soldiers defended the city from the attack of 30,000 Japanese invaders.
Spectators at the preview said the battlefield scenes are the selling point of this film and the special effects measure up to Hollywood level war films.
The special effects were created by an all-Chinese production team.
Some audiences said after preview that the war scenes are better than in director Feng Xiaogang's blockbuster "Assembly"(2007)
"Death and Glory in Changde" will open to cinemas in China on August. 19, 2010.
