Actress Kwai Lun-Mei's public image is likely to change after audiences see her latest film, "The Stool Pigeon" ("Xian Ren").

Kwai's squeaky clean, girl-next-door image goes out the door in this action film, in which she plays the member of a gang and girlfriend of the gang's leader caught up in a love triangle.

Nicholas Tse is the gangster newly released from prison who meets Kwai in the street and falls in love with her after just one kiss.

The film is co-produced by Huayi Brothers, Emperor Motion Pictures and the Sil-Metropole Organization, the same team that produced the action film "The Beast Stalker," for which lead actor Nick Cheung won Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

The premiere of "The Stool Pigeon "will be held in Beijing on Sunday, August 15, followed by further promotions in Shanghai and Guangzhou on August 16 and 18 respectively.

The film's nationwide release is set down for August 24.
