Chinese singer Li Jian, regarded as the "Poetic Musician," held a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday, August 24, to announce that his Beijing solo concert will begin on September 10.

Singer Li has stated that the upcoming concert will be his first public solo concert in Beijing. He hopes to present a real concert with a talented band, excellent audio equipment and eye-catching light effects. "To me, acoustics is the most important thing, because my concert does not use dances, magic and acrobatics. Singing is the main part, and I don't even rap", said Li.

Yajie, a host on Easy Fm at China Radio International, appeared as the mediator at the press conference.

When Yajie asked who would guest-star at his concert, Li did not answer directly. He said, "I have invited a few friends in the entertainment industry to come if they are in Beijing at that day. But I have not decided specifically whether or not they will appear on the stage."

As to whether there will be any new songs performed at his Beijing concert, Li said he would perform his own version of "23 Miao, 32 Nian" ("23 seconds, 32 years"), which is the theme song of the recent blockbuster movie, "Aftershock." The song is composed by Li Jian and sung by singer Shang Wenjie.

During the conference, Easy Fm invited some of Li Jian's fans to rewrite the lyrics of his hit song "Chuan Qi" ("Legend"). Two of them performed their own versions in front of Li. "Since the songs are published, they do not belong to myself alone. They are adopted by thousands of listeners. This is the happiest part of making music," Li said.

At the end of the conference, the concert's sponsor presented Li Jian a gift – tickets for Symphonicity, Sting with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Li Jian was excited and surprised by the big gift, asking several times if it was real. "Sting is my favorite, my hero," said Li. "It's fantastic. Is it on Jan 31 2010, in Sydney? I will empty my schedule for it."
