Director Zhang Yimou's latest movie "Under the Hawthorn Tree" was chosen to open this year's Pusan Film Festival, considered South Korea's most prestigious film festival. On October 6, Zhang arrived at Pusan with the two leads Zhou Dongyu and Dou Xiao or Shawn Dou.

"Under the Hawthorn Tree" was released in Chinese theaters on Sept. 16. As of the end of September, total box office revenue has exceeded 100 million RMB, making it the best-selling "art-house" movie in China in the past ten years.
