'Bullets' guns down box office

Jiang Wen's "Let the Bullets Fly" earned 200 million yuan in its first weekend, Beijing Morning Post reports. The period dramedy, which opened Thursday and stars Jiang, Chow Yun-Fat, Ge You and Carina Lau, took in about 60 million yuan on Saturday alone, overtaking "Avatar," which took in 57 million yuan, for earnings in a single day. The producer, Ma Ke, said a Hollywood studio has purchased the rights to remake "Bullets" for a "huge sum" and specified Jiang Wen to be the director.
