Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin in Game Change

Oscar nominee Julianne Moore has been cast as former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a upcoming TV film, according to HBO Films Wednesday.

Based on John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's bestseller of the same name, the film "Game Change" is about the 2008 presidential campaign for the White House and follows Senator John McCain's campaign from his selection of Palin as his running mate to their final defeat in the general election.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this film will be directed by Jay Roach, director of the "Meet the Parents" movies as well as the HBO film "Recount." And the scriptwriter is Danny Strong who has won an Emmy for his screenplay of "Recount," about the 2000 presidential election.

Moore is a four-time Academy Award nominee and also the first member of the cast to be announced, while some other key roles such as McCain, Obama and Hillary are still to be named. And up to now, HBO has not said when production of the film might begin.
