A French film festival with the participation of France, Switzerland and Belgium will be held here from March 30 to April 3, the French Embassy in Sri Lanka said on Tuesday.

Dinusha Ileperuma, press and information Officer of the French Embassy said the Bonjour Cinema 2011 is organized by Alliance Francaise in Colombo with the support of the Consulate of Belgium, embassies of France and Switzerland.

She said a selection of nine films will be offered by France, Switzerland and Belgium that use French as a common language.

The films are subtitled in English, and they are scheduled to be screened in central Kandy, Matara in the south and the northern capital Jaffna after the festival, Ileperuma said.

"All the films represent the social and moral concerns of contemporary directors as well as the diversity and the creativity of the French speaking countries in the field of movie-making," she said.

Ileperuma said in addition to the film festival a live musical concert, presented by French singer Celine Caussimon, will be held on April 4 at the same venue.
