Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has made a stop in Shanghai to talk about his new movie, "Looper".

Part of the sci-fi flick has been shot, in part, in Shanghai.

It is directed by Rian Johnson.

The plot revolves around a team of trained killers, known as Loopers, who work for a criminal organization of the future.

Gordon-Levitt says working in China has been a memorable experience, "It feels so much like the future here, and 'Looper', you know, is a movie about the future. And when I come here and see the skyline and Shanghai, and I see all these people feeling so much optimistic of the future, it makes me feel like I'm in another place."

Rian Johnson says that's the reason he chose Shanghai for part of the filming. "Because it is a part of the movie where Joe's character goes overseas and starts living a new life."

The film also includes performances by Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, and Chinese actress Xu Qing, who gives a big thumbs-up to the plot of the film.

"It is like nothing I have seen before, it has action, it has romance, it also deals with human philosophy. I really like it."

"Looper" is due for release next year.
