Director Uershan takes the baton from Gordon Chan. His works include "Dao Jian Xiao", or "The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman".
Rising stars Yang Mi and Feng Shaofeng will be joining the cast of the film. They both found fame in a recent popular TV series, "Heartlock Jade". Once again, they will be acting as a couple.
The original movie made more than 200 million yuan (US$30.8 million). Like the original, the sequel will be a supernatural thriller, but instead of a mere love triangle, the sequel will feature a love square, or perhaps even a pentagon.
Actress Zhao Wei who returns to the big screen after childbirth indicated the supernatural and raunchy paintings hung at the launch ceremony imply a strong taste of Uershan's movie.
Actress Zhou Xun will reprise her role as the fox spirit and said her present priority is to take good care of her skin.
Singer Kris Phillips, better known by his Chinese name Fei Xiang, will play a wicked role in the film starring against actress Chen Tingjia.
