Lisa Ono is set to tour more than 10 Chinese cities this year and will celebrate the 2012 New Year with fans at the Beijing Workers' Gymnasium, the Brazilian-born Japanese singer said during a press conference Monday.
According to Ono, her live performance will be substantially different from her album material and several new Chinese songs will be presented, in a bid to "return the enthusiasm of my Chinese fans," she said.
"These young fans have really shown affection for my music," Ono said. "I can't wait to see how they respond to some of my new material."
Ono said she welcomes letters and feedback from her fans and said it's crucial that she and her band expand their boundaries on stage.
"Both me and the fans would get bored just seeing the same old stuff time and again," she said.
Ono also disclosed that a new album is in the works, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the 3/11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
