The mini movie musical "Caesar" starring Xu Qing and Wu Xiubo began shooting recently at China Film Group's Huairou film base in Beijing.
A photo spread circulating online shows female lead Xu Qing traveling to a luxurious vintage Egyptian palace surrounded by servants dressed in ancient Roman attire.
The actress shows off her iconic sweet smile in the snapshots.
Reportedly, the movie will air as a musical program on CCTV 6, the movie channel of China Central Television, in July.
The production team will not only construct an Egyptian palace at Huairou, but also create wartime scenes of ancient Rome in neighboring Hebei Province.
Charismatic actor Wu Xiubo expressed his affection for Xu and said he was happy to costar alongside her.
This mini movie is more like a music video. Although it will be only a few minutes long, it will feature more than a thousand actors.
