The 14th Huabiao Film Awards, the highest government honors for the movie industry in China, was held in Beijing Sunday.
In the Huabiao Film Awards Presentation Ceremony, "Beginning of The Great Revival" and nine other films received the Outstanding Film award. "The Founding of a Republic," "Aftershock" and "Ocean Heaven" separately received three awards.
Most of the major awards were shared by multiple winners.
The Outstanding Director award was shared by Han Sanping and Huang Jianxin, who jointly directed "The Founding of a Republic," and Wang Jia and Shen Dongping, who directed "Shen Zhou 11."
The Outstanding Actor award was shared by Li Xuejian, who stars in "Yang Shan-zhou," and Ge You for his performance in "Sacrifice."
Na Renhua, for her leading role in "Mother," and Xu Fan, who stars in "Aftershock," shared the Best Actress Award.
The Huabiao Film Awards is China’s most prestigious film awards ceremony, which takes place every two years. Receiving a Huabiao award is considered the highest honor in the Chinese film industry.
The award was first launched in 1957 as a Chinese film award from the government that reflected the enthusiasm, encouragement and great support that the country had towards the film industry.

Outstanding Film: "Aftershock," "The Founding of a Republic," "Shen Zhou 11," "Yang Shan-zhou," "The Seal of Love," "The Love of the Hawthorn Tree," "The Piano in a Factory," "Beginning Of The Great Revival," "Guo Ming Yi," and "Sacrifice."
Outstanding Collaborative Film: "Dark October," "Confucius," "The Message," "Ocean Heaven."
Outstanding Actor: Li Xuejian for "Yang Shan-zhou," Ge You for "Sacrifice."
Outstanding Actress: Na Renhua for "Mother," Xu Fan for "Aftershock."
Outstanding Rookie Actor: Wen Zhang for "Ocean Heaven."
Outstanding Rookie Actress: Zhou Dongyu for "Under the Hawthorn Tree."
Outstanding Ethnic Chinese Actor from Outside Mainland China: Chow Yun-fat for "Confucius."
Outstanding Ethnic Chinese Actress from Outside Mainland China: Sandra Ng for "Echoes of the Rainbow."
