A report on Xinhuanet.com confirms that Huo Siyan is the first Chinese female star to receive an invitation from the organizing committee of the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival. Huo will be present on the red carpet at the festival's opening ceremony on February 9.

At this moment, Huo is the only Chinese female actress to have been invited by the organizing committee. Top luxury brands including LV, Gucci, Cartier and Tiffany are expected to prepare clothing and jewelry for her to wear on the red carpet.

Huo's most recent movie "Joyful Reunion," the sequel to Ang Lee's movie "Eat Drink Man Woman," will be screened during the festival. Other big movie names on the screening list include Zhang Yimou's epic war blockbuster "The Flowers of War," Tsui Hark's 3D Kung Fu flick "Flying Swords of the Dragon Gate" and Doze Niu's urban romance "LOVE."

The 62nd Berlin International Film Festival will run from February 9-19.
