Directed by Doze Niu, "Love" tells the story of eight lonely people who encounter many difficulties as they search for love from opposite sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Taiwan actor Mark Chao plays the lead, a businessman from Taiwan who falls in love with a single mother in Beijing played by mainland actress Chao Wei.

The film had a 10 million US dollar budget and was filmed both in Taiwan and in Beijing.

Actress Amber Kua says she enjoyed filming in different places.

"For myself, I like the part that was filmed in Beijing the most. I really think the love story from Beijing has something unique and different from the parts set in Taiwan so I hope everyone will like that too," said Kua.

"Love" is due for release on the mainland Tuesday.
