The first trailer has been released for Stephen Fung's "Tai Chi 0", the first installment in his much-anticipated Taichi trilogy, mtime.com reports.

The trilogy will consist of "Tai Chi 0," "Tai Chi Hero," and "Tai Chi Summit." With Huayi Brothers in the mix and produced by Chen Guofu, the film features the unique Chinese martial arts style Taichi.

The film is a mash-up of Kung fu, steampunk and other fashionable elements, telling the story of a young man's journey looking for his Tai Chi mentor and becoming a Tai Chi master himself, eventually facing a challenge from an army of invaders in order to protect his villagers.

The lead actors include Tony Leung, Angela Baby, Eddie Peng and Feng Shaofeng. The Taichi hero is played by a young Chinese actor, and Shu Qi and Daniel Wu were also announced as being on board.

In November 2011, when Taichi 0 was being filmed, Huayi Brothers Media Group sold the copyrights of the highly anticipated film to 31 countries at the American Film Market.

The posters are currently on show in Beijing's World Trade Center subway station, Beijing's busiest stop. The film is set to be screened at the end of the year.
