Auditions for a musical about 'The Beatles' have been held in the rock bands hometown of Liverpool, England.

Casting directors for 'Let it Be' held open auditions for their show based on the life of The Beatles.

Casting director James Hopson says they are looking for real musicians to play the part:

"We are looking for musicians. Actually we are looking for eight boys to be The Beatles for us in 'Let It Be' the West end musical. We're looking for two separate companies," said Hopson.

"Let It Be" will mark the 50th anniversary of the band's first hit "Love Me Do," which was released on October 5th 1962.

The show will feature Beatles hits and video footage charting the fab four's rise to fame.

Hopson says they want to recreate the feeling of a Beatles concert:

"It's about an audience coming into the theatre and feeling that if they close their eyes, they are at a Beatles gig. That's what we're after," said Hopson.6

"Let It Be" will run for a limited period of time in London, starting September.
