Chinese star Li Bingbing, who recently headlined in Resident Evil: Retribution, will be among the headline cast of 400 Boys, a British action thriller that shoots extensively in China from next month.
The film, with a budget of $26 million is written and directed by the UK's Alastair Paton and produced by Paton and Bill Chamberlain through China Hollywood Film and Television Entertainment.
Other cast Hong Kong singer-actress Karena Ng, Canadian actress Jodelle Ferland (Tideland), former French footballer Frank Leboeuf, Elliot Knight (TV's Sinbad), German actress Chiara Von Gilli and UK actors Charlie Rowe, Lucy Boynton, Jonny Burt and Jack Derges.
400 Boys will shoot around the Pearl River Delta, with locations taking in Hong Kong and Macau and studio shoots at the ACE Studios in Guangzhou, China.
Set in a youth subculture, the film's story involves a battle between old and young generations as bodies wear out prematurely and the young fear life more than death.
Hong Kong and China's Pegasus Motion Pictures is expected to handle the film's release in China.
