J.K. Rowling's new book gets Chinese version

The Chinese version of J.K. Rowling's new book, The Casual Vacancy, was launched on Saturday at the Beijing Book Building.

The Casual Vacancy is Rowling's first novel after the conclusion of her best-selling Harry Potter series, also her first for adults, and the Chinese version is published by the People's Literature Publishing House.

The plot of the new novel centers around a small town called Pagford, which is left in shock by the death of a man named Barry Fairbrother.

The book has topped the U.S. sales list since it was released on Sept. 27.
