Taiwan's singer and actress Cyndi Wang was in Beijing recently to release her new album, Love Or Not, which is her 12th studio album.

Wang rose to fame 10 years ago with her sweet voice, neighborhood-girl image and innovative dance moves.

Wang, 30, is trying to reach a new level with the new album by giving up happy love songs and turning to tunes portraying real love stories.

After graduating from Hua Gang Arts School in Taipei, Wang won a singing competition in Taiwan in 2003 and soon got a record contract. She then went to Japan to get training, and her debut album, Begin, topped Taiwan's music charts.

Outside her music career, Wang has starred in various dramas, including Westside Story (2003), Heaven's Wedding Gown (2004), and Smiling Pasta (2006).
