An international film & TV exhibition will open in Beijing shortly before the coming of new year, making it the last major cultural event of 2012.

The annual international professional showcase event marks its 10th anniversary this year. It has been jointly hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television (SARFT) and China Media Group and China Radio, Film & Television International Exposition since 2003.

The event focuses on the exhibition of international film and television programs, technical instruments, high-level forum. Beijing will also witness a full-blown award ceremony, honoring the national world of radio, film and television. This year's theme will be that of "New technologies, new media and new integration."

Exhibitors include media groups, TV stations, distribution companies, film producers, audio-video companies, broadcasting corporations as well as financial institutions interested in media investment from China and overseas, such as Warner Bros., NHK, Huayi Brothers Media, and Galloping Horse Film Co.

The scale of the China International Film & TV Programs Exhibition has been the largest in the whole of Asia since day one. In 2003, it attracted more than 600 exhibitors with about 705 different programs-playtime totaling at 8225 hours-and the overall trade sum came to a whopping 530 million yuan. In 2011, it attracted 1,412 exhibitors with 8,468 different programs, the trade sum reaching up to around 3 billion yuan.

A strong market of supply and demand is set to be shaped among CCTV, China International Television Corporation, local radio, film and television groups, as well as local TV stations. The concerned departments will check out the programs on the spot, and arrange for the direct entrance of overseas programs into the Chinese market.

The exhibition will be held in Beijing Dec. 28 - 30, 2012.
