British soprano Sarah Brightman will tour six Chinese cities in June, which she said will be her last tour before flying into space in 2015.

Shortly after the China tour, she will begin six months of "arduous" training for her trip to the International Space Station (ISS), she said on Saturday, after a private concert in Beijing.

She has accepted medical examinations and various tests since 2012 for her 10-day space adventure, in which she will join an elite list of paying passengers to the ISS.

In October, Russian federal space agency Roscosmos said Brightman was fit for space travel and her flight would likely be carried out in October or November 2015.

When she comes back to Earth, she will plan a 2016 tour themed around the universe, Brightman said, adding that new technologies will feature in these performances.

Seven tourists, including one female, have so far traveled to the ISS, with each of them paying at least 20 million U.S. dollars.

Brightman is massively popular in China, after singing the Beijing Olympics theme song in 2008.

She will travel to Guangzhou, Shanghai, Taipei, Shenzhen, Nanning and Beijing in June's tour.
