Tom Cruise has premiered his latest film "Oblivion" in Argentina.

"Oblivion" is set in the future.

It tells the story of a drone repair man assigned to earth after it has been destroyed in an alien attack.

The film is both directed and written by Joseph Kosinski, who's previous works includes "Tron: Legacy" and "The Black Hole."

Tom Cruise says both Kosinski's style and the character itself are what drew him to the film.

"What interested me about this story was, you know Joe Kazinsky is a visionary filmmaker, the way that this film was shot, audiences have never seen before and the character is interesting because at the beginning of the film you know he's the last man on earth and yet he has a deep connection with Earth and loves Earth."

The film also stars Morgan Freeman and Melissa Leo.

"Oblivion" is set for release next month.
